Apply for Funding
Register with My Aged Care
Through My Aged Care, your care needs are assessed and your eligibility and entitlements to funding are determined by the Australian Government. This makes accessing government-funded aged care services like ours much more affordable.
Call 1800 200 422 or visit myagedcare.gov.au – set aside at least 20 minutes to register with My Aged Care.
You’ll need to provide your personal details, including Medicare information and answer a series of questions about the sorts of tasks that you can or cannot complete at home.
Our Care Coordinators can help you apply and answer any questions you have during any stage of the process. You can also have a friend, family member or other representative register on your behalf.
Already registered?
Great – get in touch with our Care Coordinators to set up an individualised care plan. We can also help you change over from another provider.
Get an Aged Care Assessment
Once registered with My Aged Care, an Aged Care Assessment Team member will schedule a home visit to complete the assessment of your care needs. This will determine if you need a Home Care Package, short-term care or and aged care home. They’ll run through a series of questions and discuss your preferences with you.

While you wait
It may be several weeks before your home visit is scheduled and completed so Accept Care offers privately funded care options you can access while you wait.
Talk to our friendly care coordinators about this option if you need support sooner.
What’s next?
Once you’ve been assessed and assigned a referral code to access home care services, subsidised care can begin.
The outcome of your assessment from My Aged Care also details which services will be funded. Your level of subsidy determines what fees you will be required to pay for the services you need.
One of our Care Coordinators can take you through all your options and discuss the costs which comprise of:
- Basic daily fee (waived by Accept Care)
- Administration and care management fee
- Income tested fees.

Once we’ve developed your individualised care plan, we’ll sort out the paperwork and get the services you need delivered.
